She is extremely skilled with the katana and is practically unbeatable. The only thing that matches her skill with the sword is her craving for sake rice wine. All we know about her past is that she learned the way of the sword from a samurai named Junzaburo Shiina. Apparentlythis Shiina also gave Ran her first taste of sake. Shiina and Ran once had a relationship but have since parted ways. These days Ran is often joined by Meow Myao.
