SPOILERS BEWARE Since this movie is the first one in the series and its not exactly long either being just over forty minutes this certainly wont be a long review however there are still some interesting points of reference and speculations that I can theorise. What I can deduce for now is that Shiki isnt an ordinary human as her hand is prosthetic with actual human organs from the looks of it which makes me raise another question Where the hell does Shiki work in the first place? It seems to be some creepy doll place that certainly has an aura that makes me feel uneasy. She also possesses the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception which is a supernatural ability that allows her to view the death of any given object and destroy its origin which I assume is what allowed her to defeat the ghost of Kirie Fujyou but again more on this power once its explained later in the series. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/969987710095855666/unknown.png My other point of reference would be the nine floating demons as Shiki described them Kirie Fujyou was the 9th person floating in the group and somehow subconsciously controlling the eight suicide victims since she was lonely. She tried to get them to notice her but that didnt work and I guess they ended up killing themselves as a result. Whether that was Kiries doing or not remains a mystery although it seems some weird hallucinations occur once people visit the Fujo building. Kirie also seemed to be possessing Mikiya since when Shiki killed her ghost then Mikiya awoke from his deep slumber. She did mention she was lonely and that she took a liking to him. We know something occurred when Mikiya went to the Fujo building and probably had a similar encounter with the ghost of Kirie as Shiki did near the beginning of the movie hence him returning possessed and completely void of life. This is also likely what happened to the suicide victims however since they ended up dropping themselves off the building maybe Kirie commanded them to do so since they still couldnt see her. I guess all Kirie wanted was someone to socialise with since she was a sick lady that had no relatives and was probably bedridden for a while. Theres still too much unknown to make a concrete judgement but I can only speculate. The next movie in the series is actually a prequel since it occurs three years before this one so it should definitely be enlightening. 800https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/635602177833959439/969887588842373180/unknown.png A brief note on the ED song Oblivious since its a great credits song that actually has a fitting vibe to this series it sounds mysterious and since there is still so much I dont know regarding Garden of Sinners it really matches the unknown setting that was portrayed by the first movie. I should mention that Ufotable adapted this series which is a staple name nowadays that has adapted beautiful scenes from series like Demon Slayer and Fate which makes me set my expectations high for whats to come. Lastly I am already getting similar vibes to Higurashi from this series which makes me excited for the future since the former is a cherished series I love. There may be lots of theorising and speculating here but thats something Im looking forward to. For now just a short review for the first movie since there really isnt much content to work with.
