Shinji Nagashima was a Japanese mangaka. While he was in junior high school Nagashima got inspired to become a manga artist. He dropped out of school during junior high and worked as a paperboy and a tofu salesman. He made his debut as a mangaka in 1952 with his work Sansho no Pirichan.
